The flights were operated with the Boeing 787-9 VH-ZNI Qantas aircraft, which is 6 months old since it arrived in the Australian carrier's fleet.

Qantas operated flights between Australia and Argentina for 4 years, from 2008-2012. The last flight was operated on the route Buenos Aires - Sydney on March 24, 2012. The reason Qantas decided to stop the flight to Buenos Aires was because of the agreement it concluded with LATAM (then LAN), thus moving the flights. from Buenos Aires to Santiago de Chile.
