Qatar Airways takes possession of the first Airbus A380 aircraft in the fleet (video)
On September 18, a new tab was written in the history of Qatar Airways. The long awaited Airbus A380 aircraft landed in Doha. The delivery marks the beginning of a new chapter for Qatar Airways and extends operational limits. Airbus A380 will allow the airline to transport passengers over long and very long distances and to increased standards of comfort.
As a five-star performer, Airbus A380 has become a favorite among passengers and airlines. The smooth flight, the quietness of the cabin, the generous space and the general appearance of the aircraft made A380 a winner. These unique features allow Qatar Airways to provide excellent service for their passengers.
All seats are equipped with the latest entertainment systems, and the sleek and comfortable interior of the A380 Qatar Airways will accommodate a total of 517 people - 461 at Economy Class, 48 at Business Class and 8 at First Class. The Airbus A380 is the only two-passenger airliner in its entire length.
Qatar Airways is the 12 world-class airline with Airbus A380 in the fleet. The first A380 of the airline will make its debut on the popular London Heathrow route from Hamad International in Doha, followed by Paris Charles de Gaulle.
To date, Airbus has received orders for 318 A380 units from 19 customers, which means 90% of the very large aircraft market. With the delivery of 18 in September, the A380 fleet worldwide is up to 142 aircraft, which have accumulated over 1,5 millions of flight hours on approximately 180.000 commercial flights. To date, 65 millions of passengers have already enjoyed the unique flight experience aboard an A380. Every four minutes, with an A380 take off or land at one of the 41 airports where it is currently operating, and the network is constantly growing.
