We are a few days away from Christmas, and the preparations are in full swing. Have you decided on the holiday menu? What about the list of drinks to delight your guests with? The Artmark auction house organizes the Auction of WhiskyRare and Wine of collection.

The favorite whiskeys of collectors and investors, rare wines or collectible champagnes come together in the traditional Christmas Auction dedicated to old and rare drinks that are going to grace any festive table or to be given as a gift.

The 200 collectible drinks in the Auction of Rare Whiskeys and Collectible Wines also represent an attractive form of investment considering the limited edition character, the age, but also the affordable price, of approx. 30-50% of the market price of Romanian and international wines.

The auction's most valuable whisky, a very rare edition Macallan, has a starting price of €6.000. Macallan Samaroli was bottled by RW Duthie in 1984 especially for Osteria Apostoli in Milan. Samaroli is perhaps Italy's most revered independent whiskey bottler.

For the starting price of €4.000, a rare Macallan 2 liter edition bottled in 1980 is up for auction, as well as an anniversary edition of Macallan Unblended bottled in 1958, accompanied by the original box, making a perfect collector's gift.

The collectible wine segment is represented by an impressive Romanée-Conti, Échézeaux from 1996. The vintage example was produced in a limited edition numbered 3776. Romanée-Conti wines are currently fetching record prices internationally, and the example from the auction has a starting price of 1.000 euros.

The December 13 auction also brings together a selection of investment-value wines with a much better margin of return than many more volatile assets. Wine investments can be made on December 13, with the release of a 6-bottle batch of 2013 Château Monbrison Margaux, which has a starting price of just €150, or a rich selection of French Bordeaux wines, which they have starting prices between 40 and 150 euros.

With a millennial tradition in the cultivation of vines and wine production, France offers us one of the best wines in the world – Chateau Saint Michel Rivesaltes, being also the oldest specimen in the December 13 auction. The 1945 wine has a starting price of just 100 euros and is accompanied by the original box.

The special selection of collection whiskeys, wines and champagnes is kept in the cellar at Palatul Cesianu-Racoviță and can be visited until next week, Tuesday, December 13, and then physically auctioned in the auction room at the Artmark headquarters, on str. CA Rosetti, no. 5, but also online on the Artmark Live 2.0 platform, by any interested person who has previously opened an account on artmark.ro.
