According to official data, Iasi International Airport ended 2018 with a new traffic record - 1 256 640 of passengers they passed through the Iasi airport.

The increase was about 10% compared to the previous year, when a number of 1 146 086 travelers were reported, and 43% compared to the 2016 year.

August was the busiest month in 2018 with about 143.000 passengers. The increase was 17% compared to the same period of the previous year and 32% compared to August of the year 2016. 

In October 2018, for the second time in its history, Iasi Airport reached the threshold of one million passengers, one month earlier than 2017.

Regarding the number of passengers achieved in the last month of last year, it reached 95.070, increasing by 14 percentage compared to December of the year 2017.

At the same time, statistics show that the number of aircraft movements has increased. In 2018, Iasi Airport registered 12 749 of landings and take-offs, with over 8% more than in 2017

In 2018, flights were operated from Iasi to 12 countries, with direct connections to 23 of destinations. 

The economic development of the region has resulted in a natural increase of the traffic on Iasi Airport, an important contribution having the degree of loading higher on each aircraft operating in Iasi.

In addition, the number of 2018 has increased new routes. In the first semester, the Moldovan region was again linked to the West of the country, by direct flights to Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara, and from July were introduced 8 new external flights from Iasi to: Cuneo and Verona, Eindhoven, Billund, Dortmund, Thessaloniki , Paris (Beauvais) and Brussels (Charleroi), since October, the Iași-Liverpool race becoming operational.

The offer of routes was supplemented, in the peak season, by charter flights to holiday destinations: Antalya, Rhodes, Corfu and Heraklion, while increasing the frequency of flights to Munich, Milan and Turin. The first seasonal race from Iasi to Hurghada (Egypt) will be launched in May this year.

  • BLUE AIR: Barcelona, ​​Paris (Beauvais), London (Luton), Rome (Fiumicino), Milan (Bergamo), Turin, Munich, Brussels, Cologne (Bonn) and Bucharest;
  • WIZZ AIR: Milan (Bergamo), Rome (Ciampino), Venice (Treviso), Catania, Bologna, London (Luton), Larnaca, Tel Aviv, Eindhoven, Billund, Dortmund, Paris (Beauvais), Brussels (Charleroi) and Liverpool;
  • AUSTRIAN AIRLINES: Vienna.
