In 2018, TAP Air Portugal registered an increase of 10% over 2017, carrying approximately 16 million passengers.
The European routes were the ones that contributed the most to the increase in the number of passengers. In 2018, TAP transported thousands of passengers with 932 more than 2017, an increase of 10.7%.
Flights between Lisbon, Porto and Faro registered, for the first time, over 1 million passengers, up 9.4% from the previous year.
13.5% increase on flights to Azores and Madeira
And flights between the mainland and the Azores and Madeira were on the plus side. TAP carried 1.3 million passengers, up by 13.5%.
There was also a considerable increase in flights to Africa. In 2018, TAP carried 1.1 millions of passengers, up 11.3% from the same period last year.
