The year 2019 was very good for Aegean Airlines. The largest airline in Greece has carried around 15 million passengers, 1 million more than in 2018.
Specifically, Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air carried 14,99 million passengers in 2019, 7% more than in 2018. The total seats put up for sale was 17.85 million.

International passenger traffic increased by about 11%, reaching 8,7 million passengers. While domestic traffic increased modestly by only 3%, reaching 6.29 million passengers.
The largest increases were recorded in Athens (+ 11%), Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Chania, Rhodes and Kalamata (+ 8%). The aircraft loading rate increased by about one percentage point, from 83,9% in 2018 to 84,8% in 2019.
Aegean Airlines, a member of Star Alliance, is the largest air carrier in Greece. Together with its subsidiary Olympic Air, it operates flights to 155 destinations. 31 are domestic destinations, and 124 are international destinations from 44 countries. The fleet has about 60 aircraft. In 2020, Aegean Airlines will receive 6 Airbus A320neo / A321neo aircraft.
Aegean Airlines also flies to Romania. In the winter season, Aegean operates only one daily flight on the route Athens - Bucharest. In the summer season 2020, it will operate 2 daily flights on the route Athens - Bucharest.
