Royal Caribbean International has received the green light to carry out a navigation test in US waters next month. It is the first cruise line to receive approval from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) for such a trip.

The trip can take place between June 20-22 on the ship "Freedom of the Seas". All volunteers who volunteered for this test cruise must be at least 18 years old, but passengers are not required to be vaccinated against Covid-19. They will be assessed in terms of health before and after the cruise.

The cruise will depart from the Port of Miami and that Royal Caribbean International received approval is a "significant step forward" for the cruise industry, which has been unable to operate in the US since March 2020 due to numerous outbreaks of coronavirus infection and deaths on several ships.
