Wizz Air confirms that, starting with the 8 August 2012 date, the Bucharest Otopeni - Budapest route will be canceled until the end of the winter season. We still have no information if this route will be resumed from the 2013 summer season.

All passengers are informed of this change by e-mail or by telephone, who may request a full refund or a credit of 120% which can be used for future bookings. Passengers may also request the reimbursement of other expenses based on travel insurance.

According to the site wizzair.com, the last Bucharest-Budapest flight will take off on 6 August, at 20: 10.

"Wizz Air apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this change and invites those interested to book tickets for other European destinations, which the company continues to add to its network." Daniel de Carvalho, Corporate Communications Manager Wizz Air. The route operated by Wizz Air - Târgu Mureş-Budapest - remains active!

Currently, TAROM is still operating in Budapest and I think it will remain the only airline that will connect Bucharest with the Hungarian capital.
