Ryanair ascent in Romania and 250 000 of passengers
On February 18, Ryanair presented the balance of the first 10 months of flights to and from Bucharest, but also announced the new goals set.
In April 2014, Ryanair, one of the largest low-cost airlines in Europe, started operating in Bucharest. It started with Dublin and London, it also opened Brussels, and in 10 months of flights it reached the 250 000 threshold of passengers transported. Raluca Cruceanu was the passenger of 250 000, the young woman traveling from Bucharest to London on 18 February 2015.
But Ryanair doesn't stop there. The development plan is very ambitious and targets 1 million passengers in 2016. By this target, 2015 is still in the middle. For this year, Ryanair has prepared 4 destinations departing from Bucharest - Brussels (1 x daily), Dublin (4 x weekly), London (2 x per day) and Madrid (1 x daily) (since March 29) - 32 of weekly flights. They provide approximately 500 jobs at Henri Coandă International Airport and can increase the number of passengers transported up to 500 from / to Bucharest.
And until the opening of a base in Bucharest, Ryanair has only one step left to decide when. This is probably due to the availability of aircraft, but also to the opening of new routes. We believe this step will be done in 2015.
