Ryanair offers connecting flights via Rome Fiumicino
From 17 to 2017, Ryanair has launched a pilot program on connecting flights via Rome Fiumicino.
Ryanair does not cease to surprise us with its actions and services. From 17 to May 2017, the largest low-cost carrier in Europe offers connecting flights via Rome Fiumicino.
What does this thing mean? Passengers can buy one-way flights to Rome Fiumicino. The pilot program includes flights with connection on 10 routes. You can travel to / from Alicante, Barcelona, Bari, Brussels, Catania, Comiso, Malta and Palermo via Rome.
The transfer is done "airside", without having to go to the "landside" area. You pick up your luggage at the final destination and transfer it immediately from one flight to another. You will receive a ticket for both flights.
Ryanair offers connection flights
I did it simulation on the Malta - Barcelona route. The Ryanair search engine returned the connection flight via Rome Fiumicino, where the stop is approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes.
Connected flights represent the newest initiative launched under the program "Always Getting Better"Of Ryanair, which has been in operation for 4 years. If the pilot program is successful, Ryanair will extend connecting flights throughout the network.
At the same time, Ryanair is in talks with Aer Lingus and Norwegian, but also with other air carriers to launch connecting flights. It would be nice to be able to travel with Ryanair to a Norwegian hub and from there to destinations on the Norwegian carrier network, without any hassle.
This is a very important step taken by Ryanair. I can hardly wait to travel to Ryanair destinations without direct flights.
