SAS resumes flights to all destinations in the US, pre-pandemic

Scandinavian Airlines SAS will operate flights to all destinations in the US in the fall. The airline announced the resumption of direct service to Boston in September and to Miami in October.

SAS will operate flights on the route Copenhagen - Boston Logan three times a week and will be the first scheduled service to be operated with Airbus A321LR aircraft. SAS previously placed an order for three Airbus A321LR aircraft. The first aircraft has already been received and two more will be taken over before the end of 2021.

SAS will also increase the frequency of flights from Copenhagen to Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) and Washington (IAD). The airline will also reintroduce the service to New York from Stockholm, from September 2, in addition to the current direct routes to Newark (EWR), from Copenhagen and Oslo (OSL).

Starting October 1, SAS will resume services to Miami (MIA) from Copenhagen and Stockholm. Towards the end of October, Miami will begin to be served daily by SAS from Scandinavia, with three weekly flights from Copenhagen and Stockholm respectively, as well as a weekly service from Oslo.

SAS is present in the Chicago market, with daily flights from Copenhagen to O'Hare International Airport (ORD), as well as additional cargo-only flights. Flights on the Stockholm - Chicago route will resume later this fall. In total, SAS plans to operate up to 50 weekly services to the US this fall.
