On the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Romanian Aviation and the Air Forces, on Saturday, July 20 2019, starting with the 10.00 time, a ceremony will be held at the Monument of the Heroes of the Air in the Aviator Square. It will be a military and religious ceremony with flower wreaths in memory of flying heroes.

During the ceremony about 25 of F-16 Fighting Falcon military aircraft, MiG-21 LanceR, IAR-99 Shoim, IAR-99 Standard, C-27J Spartan and IAR-330 Puma belonging to the Romanian Air Force, two aircraft will evolve. Eurofighter Typhoon type of the Italian Air Force, six helicopters type EC-135 and Mi-17 belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, three helicopters IAR-330 Puma of the Romanian Intelligence Service and four Extra 300 type aircraft belonging to the Airfield of Romania.

Romanian Aviation and Air Force Day

During the period 16-18 July, starting with the hour 10.00, in the area of ​​the Air Heroes Monument in Aviatorilor Square, trainings will take place with the military aircraft that will participate in the flagship event of the Romanian Air Forces.

The day of the Romanian Aviation and Air Force is celebrated, every year, on the 11th of July, when the Holy Prophet Ilie Tesvitean, the spiritual guardian of the pilots, is celebrated. In the same month, 20 years ago, Aurel Vlaicu made the first complete flight with an airplane of his own conception on the territory of our country.

Italian detachment of approximately 130 military (pilots and technical personnel) with Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, deployed at Mihail Kogălniceanu airfield, participates in the execution of enhanced Air Policing missions under NATO command, along with F-16 Fight aircraft Falcon, MiG-21 LanceR and military of the Romanian Air Force.
