Singapore Airlines received the first Airbus A350 XWB and announced the first routes
List of operators Airbus A350 XWB is growing. Starting today, 2 March 2016, Singapore Airlines becomes the 5 operator of the new widebody aircraft. Offering unique passenger experience and operational efficiency, the A350 XWB will be the backbone of the future SIA fleet of medium-sized widebody aircraft.
Singapore Airlines ordered 67 of A350-900 aircraft, all configured in 3 classes and with a capacity of 253 of seats: 42 of seats in Business Class, 24 of seats in Economy Premium and 187 of seats in Economy. Of these, 7 will be Airbus A350-900ULR (Ultra-Long Range), A350 XWB aircraft with special changes for flights up to 19 hours.
new A350 XWB will join Singapore's widebody fleet, which also includes 19 Airbus A380-800 and 29 A330-300. For starters, the new A350 SIA aircraft will operate regional flights to Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, with May to enter long-haul flights, with Amsterdam and Dusseldorf being the first on the list.
