Singapore Airlines will operate flights with Boeing 737-800NG, from March 2021
Singapore Airlines (SIA) will operate Boeing 737-800 NG flights on the Singapore-Phuket route, starting on March 4, 2021, as part of SilkAir's integration with the parent airline. SIA 737-800 NG will have 12 Business Class seats and 150 Economy Class seats.
Several SilkAir routes will be progressively transferred as nine 737-800 NG aircraft join the SIA fleet. This would also allow Singapore Airlines to operate the aircraft to destinations in its current network, starting with Brunei in March 2021. The full integration of SilkAir into Singapore Airlines is scheduled to be completed in the 2021/22 financial year.
"The introduction of the SIA 737-800 NG will bring a more comfortable and relaxing travel experience for customers on our regional routes. SilkAir's integration into the AIS also allows us to be agile and flexible in aircraft deployment and supports our fleet and network growth strategy. "Said Goh Choon Phong, executive director, Singapore Airlines.
