Singapore - New York with Singapore Airlines, from 11 October to 2018
Starting with 11 October 2018, Singapore Airlines will relaunch the Singapore - New York route. It will be the longest flight in the world, with an average duration of 19 hours.
With the reception of the new Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft, Singapore Airlines will be able to relaunch the Singapore - New York route. Starting with 11 October 2018, flights on this route will be resumed, being the longest flights after their duration.
Singapore - New York with Singapore Airlines
During the period 11-18 October, 3 will operate weekly flights on the Singapore-New York route, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. And during the period 18-27 October, the flights will be daily, according to schedule:
SQ22 Singapore 23: 35 - 06: 00 + 1 Newark
SQ21 Newark 10: 45 - 17: 30 + 1 Singapore
From 28 October to 2018, with the changeover to winter time in aviation, Singapore Airlines will fly daily on the Singapore - New York route, according to the schedule:
SQ22 Singapore 00: 40 - 05: 30 + 1 Newark
SQ21 Newark 09: 45 - 17: 15 + 1 Singapore
Singapore Airlines is the launch customer of the Airbus A350-900ULR, a model derived from A350-900 XWB. He ordered 7 units to operate the longest routes in the world: Singapore - New York and Singapore - Los Angeles. Until 2013, these routes have been honored with Airbus A340-500 All Business aircraft.
The new Airbus A350-900ULR will be configured in 2 classes and will be able to carry up to 161 passengers: 67 seats in Business Class and 94 seats in Premium Economy. They will have a range of up to 18 000 kilometers and will be able to fly non-stop for 19 hours.
Singapore Airlines currently owns 21 of A350-900 aircraft, with 46 still on order, including 7 of the ULR variant. The first A350-900ULR will be delivered in September, and the other 6 will be delivered by the end of this year.
Singapore Airlines currently operates the Singapore - New York route via Frankfurt. Other routes operated to the United States: Singapore - Houston through Manchester, Singapore - Los Angeles through Seoul and Tokyo and Singapore - San Francisco with direct flights from Singapore but also with stops in Hong Kong.
