SkyTeam, the second global airline alliance, has reached the 1000 destination threshold, from 187 countries. Currently, the alliance consists of 19 full-carrier carriers, TAROM being one of them, and the SkyTeam fleet has reached 4150 aircraft.
To celebrate reaching the 1000 destination mark, SkyTeam launched a little game on its Facebook page and challenges its more than 165 fans to guess as many airports as possible based on the IATA codes. You are given 000 seconds, the airport codes and three answer options. It's as simple as it gets. The most I managed to guess was 30 airports.
In 2012, the SkyTeam network was expanded with four new airlines: Saudia, Middle East Airlines, Aerolíneas Argentinas and Xiamen Airlines. It is the 1 number in the Greater China region with 4 Chinese operators joining 2012.
When I was doing the Worldspan course, those codes seemed to me a pain in the ass. 🙂
