Slovenia reopens borders for tourists

From Thursday, July 15, Slovenia will reopen its borders for all vaccinated travelers, those recovered from the virus and those with a negative PCR test, the Slovenian authorities announced. According to a government press release, the traffic light system will be eliminated and all passengers entering Slovenia will be subject to the same requirements. They will need to present a vaccination certificate, a recovery certificate or a negative PCR test result., not older than 72 hours.

Passengers passing through Slovenia and persons involved in the carriage of goods and passengers are also subject to the same rules. There will be only two exceptions to the quarantine and testing rules for entry into Slovenia: the exceptions apply to those who own property in Slovenia and children under the age of 15 who travel with their parents or guardians.

Authorities reported that EU COVID Digital Certificate it is also accepted as proof for travelers. The country successfully joined the EUDCC gateaway at the end of June, starting to issue the digital certificate to its citizens, in an attempt to facilitate the movement of travelers across Europe, as agreed by the EU earlier this year.

In order for the vaccination certificate to be accepted, it must meet certain conditions.

  • At least 7 days have passed since the second dose of Pfizer vaccine was given by the traveler.
  • At least 14 days have passed since the second dose of Moderna, Sputnik V, CoronaVac or Sinopharm vaccine was given. performed by the person wishing to travel
  • At least 14 have passed since the traveler received the single dose of Janssen vaccine
  • At least 21 days have passed since the first dose of Vaxzevriav (AstraZeneca) or Covishield (Serum Institute of India / AstraZeneca) vaccine was administered to the traveler.

In addition to travel vaccinated with vaccines authorized by the European Medicines Agency, Slovenia also recognizes CoviShield, the COVID vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of Indian, Sinopharm produced in China, and the vaccine provided by Russia, Sputnik V.

Slovenia has over 257.875 positive cases of COVID-19 infection. So far, 4.765 people have died, according to figures published by the World Health Organization. In the last 48 hours, the Slovenian authorities have not reported any deaths related to COVID-19, but 12 new cases have been registered.
