Southern Air receives two Boeing 777F Freighters

Southern Air, an airline in the Anchorage - Alaska area, announced the enrichment of the fleet with two cargo aircraft Boeing 777F Freighters. The first aircraft has already arrived and is operational, and the 4 will be delivered on 25 in April. With the new acquisitions, Southern Air will operate 4 Boeing 777F Freighters, all for DHL Express.

The first two are used on the Cincinnati-Bahrain-Hong Kong route as early as September 2011. The new cargo aircraft are to be operated on the Hong Kong-Los Angeles-Leipzig route. And the new Boeing 777F Freighters will be painted in the combined livery between DHL and Southern Air.

Southern Air will enjoy the first Boeing 777F Freighters aircraft equipped with ACMI. This type of aircraft offers a good cost / ton ratio, consuming from 17% to 28% less fuel per tonne compared to other cargo models in the same class.
