Spirit Airlines and Airbus have signed an agreement for 100 for the A320neo family aircraft. The American airline, based in Miramar, Florida, wants a mix of A319neo, A320neo and A321neo models.

Currently, Spirit Airlines owns an all-Airbus fleet consisting of 138 aircraft: 31 x A319; 64 x A320; 13 x A320neo; 30 x A321. The new airplanes ordered come with reduced fuel consumption, but also more comfort. Spirit Airlines plans to step up operations in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America.
