TAP has recorded traffic and revenue records in Q3 2012

TAP Portugal, the national airline of Portugal, has recorded new records of passenger and revenue traffic in Q3 2012. According to the statements made by the carrier's officials, this quarter was the best in TAP history. The increase was 21% in revenue over the same period of year 2011. July, August and September were the best months as fuel prices rose, as were airport taxes.

During this period, the TAP airline transported NO passengers, being for the first time in its history when passenger traffic exceeded one million every month. The figures for August were truly impressive - 1,071,255 passengers.

The European markets, which have shown notable growth, were in particular Belgium / Luxembourg, Germany, Scandinavia and the countries of Eastern Europe. Bucharest recently entered the TAP operational map and it seems that the route had a very good start. TAP will increase the frequency at 6 weekly flights on route Bucharest - Lisbon, from the summer of 2013. The US market also recorded an increase of 22%, reflecting the success of the route to Miami.

Regarding the cumulative results of the first nine months of the year, TAP carried 7817047 of passengers, with 4,1% more compared to the same period of year 2011.

TAP operates a fleet of 55 passenger aircraft, all Airbus, and in command has 12 A350-900! Fly to 78 of cities and 80 of airports around the world.
