TAP Air Portugal flights to Chicago and Washington
In the 2019 summer season, TAP Air Portugal will operate flights to two new destinations in the United States: Chicago and Washington. The operations will start on 1 June 2019.
TAP Air Portugal is on the wave. It is modernizing its fleet, increasing flight frequencies on some routes and announcing new routes for the coming season. It plans to double its operations to the United States in the coming years. For starters, starting with the 2019 summer season, we will have TAP Air Portugal flights to Chicago and Washington.
The Lisbon - Chicago route will start on June 1, 2019, and from June 16, operations will also start on the Lisbon - Washington route. Both routes will be honored with 5 weekly flights.

TAP Air Portugal will operate flights to Chicago and Washington with Airbus A330-200 aircraft. They are configured in 2 classes and can carry up to 269 passengers. Gradually, they will be replaced by the new A330-900neo aircraft.
TAP Air Portugal is the launch operator for the new Airbus A330-900neo model. First A330-900 TAP Air Portugal was delivered, with other 19 arriving in the Portuguese carrier fleet by the end of 2019.
In total, TAP owns a fleet of 70 of modern aircraft and has commissioned other 70 of new generation aircraft, which will be delivered to 2025. These include: 19 x A320neo, 17 x A321neo and 14 x A321LR. This huge fleet increase will allow TAP Air Portugal to launch new routes and increase frequencies over existing ones.
TAP Air Portugal is one of our favorite companies. In September 2017, I flew with TAP on the route Bucharest - Lisbon - Azores. I can say that we had pleasant flights, on time and with decent services for this difficult period that commercial aviation is going through. Let's hope they continue to invest in passenger comfort.
