In 2012, TAP Portugal has carried over 10 millions of passengers globally. Since July 1, 2012, TAP also operates on the direct route Bucharest - Lisbon, so I was also interested in the traffic in Romania.
For the first time, Airlines Travel presents TAP Portugal figures for Romania. During JUL-OCT 2012, TAP Portugal carried approximately 11.500 passengers from / to Romania, given that the initial target was set at 5.000 passengers. The destinations with the best results for the Romanian market were: Lisbon, Miami, Porto, Faro, Madeira & Azores, New York, Marrakesh, Brazil - through the 10 destinations served.
In the winter season, TAP Portugal operates 3 weekly direct flights on the Bucharest-Lisbon relationship. In the desire to offer as many city break alternatives during this period, the flight schedule has been adapted to this type of traffic, by replacing Thursday with Tuesday and by changing the operating hours on this day.
Thus, in the winter season there are 2 alternatives for the city-breakers in Lisbon:
a) Bucharest - Lisbon - arrival on Saturday at 7:25, local time
Lisbon - Bucharest - departure Sunday at 23.10, local time and arrival in Bucharest at 04.10, Monday morning
b) Bucharest - Lisbon - arrival on Saturday at 7:25, local time
Lisbon - Bucharest - departure Tuesday at 11.40 local time and arrival in Bucharest at 17.40
Due to the success of the summer season, when the flights had an average load of 90%, the company TAP Portugal has decided to increase the number of frequencies and will arrive at 6 weekly flights with June 2013.
Thus, from April 1, there will be 4 weekly frequencies between Bucharest and Lisbon (on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays on the Bucharest-Lisbon route, respectively on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays on the Lisbon-Bucharest route). From 1 June, their number will increase to 6.
The flight schedule is an advantageous one, which means arriving in Lisbon in the early morning and departing in the evening, thus offering an excellent product for both point-to-point and transfer traffic.
