Commercial aviation is in a continuous transformation. Many all-legacy companies have begun to migrate to a hybrid form, introducing taxes on certain services offered to passengers. As well, many low-cost companies have started migrating to the hybrid area, offering more and more free services at ticket prices.

KLM

One of the full-service companies that started migrating to the hybrid area is KLM. Starting with 22 April 2013, KLM has lowered prices on flights to 30 from destinations in Europe, but has introduced charge for luggage hold.

From 22 March to 2016, KLM will increase the hold baggage fees with 5 EURO. On European KLM flights, passengers will have to take out of pocket 25 of EURO / baggage / segment if purchased online or NO EURO / baggage / segment if bought at the airport.

Flying Blue Ivory members will pay 10 EURO less: 15 EURO / luggage / segment if purchased online or 25 EURO / luggage / segment if purchased at the airport. Flying Blue Platinum, Gold and Silver members will continue to benefit from free luggage transport.
