Company TAROM was designated for the second consecutive year the winner of the first place in the category "Tourism - Airline of the year", during the Excellence Awards Gala held on 21.05.2013. The sixth edition of the event "HOTEL TOURISM & LEISURE INVESTMENT CONFERENCE 2013Was organized by Evensys and was hosted by JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel.
In the category "Tourism - Airline of the year", TAROM was declared the winner of the first place from a list of 8 finalist airlines. The winner of each category was nominated by combining the vote of the jury of 16 tourism representatives and the public vote (8.000 people voted online, according to Evensys organizers). During the event, awards and distinctions were awarded for the projects that marked the Romanian tourism industry, in the following categories: hotels & meeting venues, restaurants, bars & clubs, leisure and tourism, distinctions for experience and excellence.
Also this week, officials TAROM have announced that they have been able to reduce losses well above estimated figures. In the first 4 months of the year 2013, the financial losses were reduced by 36 million RON, compared to the same period last year, which means an improvement of the results with 35%.
