Following the Beirut disaster in August 2020, Air France and its employees are providing assistance and support to the Lebanese people. Through a major fundraising campaign "Solidarité Liban" almost 3 tons of donations were collected.

Six months after the tragedy, the Air France Foundation came to the aid of young Lebanese schoolchildren, providing them with computers to enable them to continue their studies. The Air France Foundation purchased 52 computers for the benefit of the LEM association - Les enfants de la Méditerranée (Children of the Mediterranean). In association with Air France Cargo and the Air France Division in Beirut, these computers were sent to Beirut on 27 January.

Since 2016, the LEM association has been working in Lebanon to help disadvantaged and abused Lebanese children and refugee children (Syrians, Palestinians), who are the first victims of the crisis the country is going through. The LEM Association provides support, through its local partner AFEL - Association du Foyer de l'Enfant Libanais - for the rehabilitation of schools, the purchase of educational and school materials, psychological support and the implementation of activities "art therapy ” for war-traumatized children. Following the explosions that destroyed several schools in Beirut, the LEM association helped rebuild them.

For more than 28 years, the Air France Foundation has funded educational projects that help sick and disabled children and young people in the countries where Air France operates. The Foundation adapts its projects to meet current challenges as quickly as possible.

As part of its commitment to environmental education, the Air France Foundation provides funding for educational and learning initiatives that contribute to understanding climate issues and biodiversity conservation. Since its inception, it has contributed to the development of 1.516 projects in France and around the world, thanks to the strong links established with the associations and the commitment of Air France staff.
