In December, 16.800 of passengers boarded and disembarked at Iasi Airport, compared with 12.300 of passengers in December of the year 2012. Thus, the total number of passengers boarded and disembarked during the year 2013 reached 231.000.

"We exceeded the 200.000 threshold of passengers, as correctly predicted at the beginning of the 2013 year. The year 2014 is foreshadowing a good year although it may not be as spectacular in terms of passenger growth but surely a year with a significant increase compared to 2013 because the existing runway has actually exceeded its capacity. The year 2014 will bring in addition and two (2) new direct external destinations, Tel Aviv and Bergamo. The discussions are near the end, the official announcement to be made when the races are introduced into the system.

At the end of 2013 we developed a new component in the marketing activity, focused exclusively on the approach of new companies and new routes, which together with the component of promoting the Airport and Iasi as a whole, professionally exercised by the marketing team, will lead to increasing the general interest for our area. So the good news from Iasi Airport will not stop coming in the new year. ”

said Mr. Marius BODEA, President of the Board of Directors of Iasi Airport.

The Iasi-Turin-Iasi race represents the race with the highest loading average of the external flights operated from Iasi Airport. Also, the number of passengers registered in 2013 for domestic flights, either for Iaşi-Bucharest or for Iaşi-Timişoara (only in the first 5 months of the year) reached a total of 117.000 of passengers.

We remind that in 2013 3 new external races were introduced, in total 5 external destinations for passengers in the Moldovan area (Rome, Bologna, Turin, Vienna, London), compared to 2012 when there were only two (Vienna and Rome since December 2012). .
