The Oradea Airport terminal is being enlarged 4 times, with European funds!

The Bihor County Council approved today the project to expand the passenger terminal at Oradea Airport. Practically, Terminal 1 (the existing one) will increase its area from 2.925 m12.500, as it is currently, to approximately XNUMX mXNUMX.

By making this investment, it will be possible to process 400 passengers/flow, and the operating costs of the airport will be optimized, considering that all operations will be carried out in one building, and not in two, as is the case today. The project will have to be completed by the end of 2023 at the latest.

The total value of the project amounts to over 200 million lei. Most of it represents European funds.

We are happy to hear that Romanian airports are investing millions of lei in modernization, in infrastructure, in the development of new terminals. But it's sad that there aren't many routes that justify these investments now. No one flocks to fly from Oradea. Only RYANAIR has a few international flights and TAROM when it remembers on the route to Bucharest. Hopefully the airports will be properly upgraded and we will be able to see dozens of daily flights.
