The first Airbus A321LR SAS was delivered. Biofuel was used on the delivery flight.
SAS received the first of the three A321LRs leased from Air Lease Corporation (NYSE: AL). Thus, it became the newest operator of the most efficient single-aisle aircraft dedicated to medium and long flights. The Airbus A321LR is powered by CFM Leap-1A engines.
The delivery flight from the Airbus base in Hamburg to the SAS base in Copenhagen used 10% biofuel. Airbus is the first aircraft manufacturer to offer customers the option to use biofuel for the delivery of new aircraft. Such delivery flights are available from 2016.
