First Airbus A350-900 Delta takes shape at the Airbus base in Toulouse. This week, the endings of the wings (winglets) specific to the A350 XWB model have been installed. They carry the Delta logo.

In January 2017, the main components of the aircraft arrived in Toulouse, marking the beginning of the final assembly process. In the coming months, those 2 Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines will be mounted on the wings of the aircraft.

After assembly, the luggage compartments, seats and cabs specific to the Delta carrier will be fitted. Prior to the first flight, the aircraft will be painted in the Delta livery.

In the fall of this year, the first Airbus A350 XWB Delta will debut in commercial service, especially on routes across the Pacific. Delta expects to receive 5 A350 XWB aircraft by the end of 2017.

All aircraft will be configured in 3 classes: 32 of Delta One apartments; 48 seats at Delta Premium and 226 seats at Economy Class.

In addition to the specific features of the A350 XWB, the new Delta aircraft will also offer high-speed 2KU Wi-Fi.

Delta has 25 of A350-900 aircraft commissioned by Airbus. They will replace the outdated Boeing 747-400 aircraft. At the same time, Delta will receive the first Airbus A330-900neo in 2019. These acquisitions are part of the strategy of the American carrier for the renewal of the long-courier fleet.
