The first Boeing 777X began ground tests (photo / video)
On 20 June 2019, the first Boeing 777X (WH001) began ground tests. The aircraft moved on the platform of the Boeing base from Paine Field (PAE).
In addition to running on the platform, Boeing 777X (WH001) had a moment of acceleration and braking on the test track.
Also in ground tests, the first Boeing 777X stretched and folded its wing tips. As long as the plane is on the ground, the wingtips will bend. Thus, it will diminish its size, which will allow it to benefit from the same facilities as the classic Boeing 777 :).
By the time the aircraft is in flight, the wingtips will be stretched, significantly contributing to reduced fuel consumption, but also to better aerodynamics.
