Last weekend, 24-25 March 2018, meant the transition to summer time in aviation. For Singapore Airlines, it also meant the reception of the first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner in the world.

The delivery ceremony took place in the presence of 3000 by people (press representatives, Boeing and Singapore Airlines officials, Boeing employees). The aircraft was delivered from Boeing Center in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Singapore Airlines - through its subsidiary Scoot - is already flying 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner. With the reception of the first Boeing 787-10, it will be the first air group with all three Dreamliner models in the fleet.

Starting in May, Boeing 787-10 Singapore Airlines will fly to Osaka and Perth, among the first destinations announced. However, starting with April 3, the new Boeing 787-10 will be used on flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur to prepare the crew.

Singapore Airlines currently has 68 orders for additional Boeing aircraft: 48 x 787-10 and 20 x 777-9.

Boeing 787-10 is the largest aircraft in the Dreamliner family. For passengers, the new variant offers the same features specific to Dreamliner aircraft: larger windows, larger luggage compartments, lower altitude, increased comfort.

But it comes with extensive facilities for airlines. Boeing 787-10 is longer and can carry more passengers than the smaller siblings - 787-9 and 787-8. The Singapore Airlines variant can carry up to 337 passengers in 2 classes: 36 seats in Business Class and 301 seats in Economy Class.

787-10 Dreamliner sets a new standard for fuel efficiency. Provides the lowest operating costs / seat of all commercially available widebody aircraft to date.

From 2011 and up to now, over 640 of Boeing Dreamliner aircraft have carried over 230 of millions of passengers on 680 of unique routes worldwide.
