Freshly removed from the Boeing hangars, the first Boeing 787-9 Air Tahiti Nui is painted in the new livery.

On September 6, the first Boeing 787 Air Tahiti Nui rolled out of the Boeing hangars. It is registered with the code F-OMUA and baptized "Fakarava. It comes equipped with the new Air Tahiti Nui color scheme, which some Polynesian symbols.

This is the first Dreamliner out of a total of 4. It will arrive in Tahiti in October, and from November it will operate commercial flights to Auckland. From March 2019, the aircraft will operate flights between Papeete and Paris.

Air Tahiti Nui's first Boeing 787

The aircraft is configured in 3 classes and can carry up to 294 passengers. The configuration is: 30 seats in Business Class, 32 seats in Premium Economy and 232 seats in Economy.

The first two aircraft are leased from Air Lease Corp. (ALC).

The next 2 are contracted directly from Boeing and will be paid the sum of 517 million dollars. The latter would be delivered by the end of 2019. The new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will replace the current Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
