On April 6 2014, Boeing introduced the first EVERYTHING Dreamliner (ZK-NZE) in colors Air New Zealand. The aircraft is painted in a new livery, a black and white color scheme that we will find on several aircraft in the Air New Zealand fleet.

For starters, Air New Zealand will operate the first Boeing 787-9 on the Auckland-Perth route later this year, most likely starting with the October 15 2014. The New Zealand carrier has ordered 10 Boeing 787-9 units, and is also the launch customer for this model.

Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in Air New Zealand colors will carry 302 passengers, having configuration in 3 classes: 18 seats at Business Class (1-1-1), Premium Economy will have 21 seats (2-3-2) Economy Class with 263 seats (3-3-3). All 787-9 ANZ will be powered by the ollce Royce Trent 1000 engines.

The new 787-9 will complete the 787 family of aircraft. It is 6 meters longer compared to 787-8 and can carry up to 40 more passengers over a longer distance with 555 km. It retains the unmistakable Dreamliner design and offers the same performance, consuming up to 20% less fuel compared to aircraft in the same class.

26 customers from around the world have ordered 405 787-9 aircraft, accounting for approximately 40% of orders for the 787 Dreamliner family.
