At the time of publication of this article, the fourth Boeing 737 MAX 8 Blue Air (YR-MXD) is flying to Bucharest. Thus, Blue Air manages to take important steps towards modernizing the fleet.

It is configured in a class with 189 seats, arranged 3-3 on 32 rows. Each chair is equipped with a support for clothes, USB port, adjustable headrest, table and various storage support, and under the seats there are sockets.

Propulsion is provided by 2 CFM International LEAP-1B engines, which promise 16% fuel economy compared to the 737NG model. At the same time, they are quieter engines, which greatly reduces noise pollution outside, but also inside.

Personally, I had the joy and pleasure to fly with the first Boeing 737 MAX 8 Blue Air, which arrived in Romania at the beginning of April. Here's how the flight with the newest plane in the Blue Air fleet was - first Boeing 737 MAX 8 Blue Air (YR-MXA).

With the modernization of the fleet, Blue Air optimizes the operational program. Thus, from March 2022, Blue Air will reopen its base in Iasi. It will allocate a Boeing 737 MAX 8 and operate direct flights to 8 destinations: Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Brussels, London, Bucharest and Cologne.

From September, Blue Air will expand operations from Milan Linate base with direct flights to Madrid, Prague, Palermo and Lamezia Terme.
