On October 1, 2016, Cathay Pacific withdrew the last Boeing 747-400 from the fleet. After 37 years, the jumbo jet operated flight CX543 (Tokyo - Hong Kong). It was the farewell flight! The aircraft was piloted by John Graham, one of the experienced pilots at Cathay Pacific.

The passengers on the last flight were greeted with a glass of champagne and souvenirs, including a flight certificate, proving their presence on the flight CX543.

It has been configured in 4 classes: 9 seats at First Calss, 46 seats at Business Class, 26 seats at Premium Economy and 278 seats at Economy.

The old Boeing 747-400 (B-HUJ) has given way to new generations of aircraft: Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 777-300ER, but also to future generations Boeing 777-9X and Airbus A350-1000.

Boeing 747 is a technological masterpiece, which has revolutionized the aviation industry worldwide. At the same time, it also changed the travel habits of passengers. For 35 years (1970-2005), Boeing 747 held the record for the largest passenger plane in the world, a record set by Airbus A380. Due to its size, it was also called Jumbo Jet.
