Most European countries have suspended flights to / from the UK due to a new, more contagious strain of Covid-19. At the same time, similar measures have been taken by other states on other continents.
Canada bans all flights from the UK, starting with December 20, 2020 (00:00).
Kuwait it was the first non-European country to impose restrictions on passengers flying from the UK.
Argentina suspended flights to Britain. The last flight, which flew from Great Britain to Argentina, landed at Ministro Pistarini International Airport on Monday, December 21 at 9:00. Passengers and crew members are isolated for 7 days.
Columbia suspended flights to and from the UK from 21 December until further notice. Travelers who have arrived in the country in the last eight days must now remain isolated.
Chile bans travel from the UK between December 22 and January 5. This does not apply to Chilean citizens traveling abroad.
El Salvador bans all travel from the UK and South Africa.
Hong Kong bans all flights to / from the UK from 22 December 2020.
India suspended flights to / from the UK. The measure entered into force on December 22, at 00:00, and will be valid until December 31.
Iran suspended all flights to / from the UK for the next 2 weeks. The measure will apply from 20 December.
Israel has banned foreigners from Britain, South Africa and Denmark. The measure is initially applied for 7 days.
Jamaica suspended all connections with the UK for the next 2 weeks. The measure shall apply from 22 December 2020 to 4 January 2021.
Iordania suspended all direct and transit flights from the UK between 21 December and 3 January.
Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman, Panama, Pakistan Peru completes the list of non-European countries that apply travel restrictions for the United Kingdom. Some of the countries mentioned above also restrict travel from the Netherlands, Denmark or South Africa.
