The governing program of the PNL-PSD-UDMR coalition comes with news regarding the air transport and airport infrastructure development. In addition to streamlining the TAROM company and continuing the process of developing and modernizing the airport infrastructure at several airports in the country, the program also includes an airport in the Brăila-Galați area, informs economica.net.
The new government program comes with a few amendments in addition to the program made by PNL last year, in collaboration with those from USR-PLUS. Thus, an opportunity study is included regarding the development in cooperation with the local authorities of an airport in the Brăila-Galați area and the development of cargo capacities by building cargo terminals near regional airports (Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, Iași, Bacău, Craiova).
Regarding TAROM, what else can be said? For 10 years, attempts have been made to make TAROM more efficient and to bring it to profit, but without results so far. They've been in the fleet before, they've laid off some staff, but there's still a lot of work to be done for a profitable and reliable company.
Regarding the idea of the airport in Brăila - Galați, we can say that it is not new. It was discussed almost every time it came to local and national elections. The idea is not bad, but an airport is not made overnight. For now just words!
