Bucharest Airports National Company started the reception procedure upon completion of the expansion works of the boarding-disembarkation platform no. 1 from "Henri Coandă" Bucharest International Airport.

The investment aimed at the creation of four parking positions for aircraft with code letter C (Boeing B737, Airbus A320 or similar), as well as the facilities necessary for their operation, achieving an increase in platform capacity by approximately 10%. The new aircraft parking area has an area of ​​15.865 square meters, and the cost of the expansion works for the entire area was 21.471.180 lei (including VAT).

Initially, the works were started on 18.03.2019, but the contract was terminated because the executor did not respect the contractual clauses regarding the completion deadline. Later, a new public procurement procedure was launched, the technical expertise and the necessary documentation were developed, and on 08.09.2022, work on this investment objective resumed, currently the reception procedure is underway.

Purchase of electric tugs

➢ Also, CN Aeroporturi Bucharest announces the signing of contracts for the purchase of three new tugs for the towing-pushing of aircraft on the platform of "Henri Coandă" International Airport Bucharest. Two of the tugs are electric, with the lifting of the aircraft's nose leg, and can also be used remotely, by means of complex remote controls, being able to service aircraft with MTOW up to 100 tons (Boeing 737, Airbus 320 series, CRJ, Embraer, Fokker , SAAB, etc.).

The value of the contract is 825.000 euros, an amount that includes service during the 4-year warranty period, as well as the training and certification of the personnel who operate and maintain the machines. The third contracted tug is equipped with a thermal engine and drawbar, for servicing large aircraft with MTOW of up to 450 tons (Airbus 330, Airbus 340, Boeing 767, Boeing 777, Boeing 747, etc.). The value of this contract is 616.000 euros (includes service during the 3-year warranty period, as well as training and certification of the personnel who operate and maintain the machine).

Delivery of all contracted equipment will take place in the first quarter of 2024.
