On 11 February, The National Committee for Emergency Situations adopts the decision no. 9 (You can study it in full, in decision 9 being the new restrictive measures applied to enter Romania).
Through this decision it was updated yellow list of countries and areas of epidemiological risk for which the quarantine measure is instituted on persons arriving in Romania.
At the same time, by Decision no. 9, the authorities established and regulated the new new restrictive measures imposed by Romania upon entering the country. Below we have extracted the most important changes.
If you have a negative COVID-19 test, stay in quarantine for 10 days
By air, you can travel to Romania from yellow countries only with the presentation of the RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, performed no more than 72 hours before boarding. They enter quarantine at home or at the declared location for a period of 10 days (without the obligation to test on day 8). The same measure is valid for those who travel with their own means, the RT-PCR test being presented at the border. The measure does not apply to those traveling from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
People who travel to Romania with their own means from the yellow area and It does NOT show the negative PCR test of COVID-19 at the border, will enter home quarantine / chosen location for 14 days. They can go out on the 10th day of quarantine if tested on the 8th day. Measure does not apply to those arriving from the UK.
Exceptions to quarantine
They are exempt from quarantine those in transit for a maximum of 24 hours through Romania. Are exempt from quarantine and people arriving in Romania from countries / areas / territories with a high epidemiological risk, if they remain in the national territory for a period of less than 3 days (72 hours) and shows a negative test for SARS-CoV-2, performed no later than 72 hours before entering the national territory.
The measures provided in this decision shall enter into force for the countries / areas / territories on the list approved by HCNSU no. 6 of 04.02.2021 and which are also found in the list provided in art. 1, starting with 13.02.2021, at 00.00.
For the countries newly entered on the list approved by this decision, the measures shall apply from 15.02.2021, 00.00.
