On September 4, 2022, after a two-year hiatus, it will take place BIAS NOTHING. This year's edition is dedicated to the aviation symbols Băneasa and Brăescu. We remind you that "Aurel Vlaicu" Băneasa International Airport turned 110 years old, Băneasa Airport being one of the oldest airports in the world, still operational.
Why Smaranda Brăescu? Because the beginnings of aviation in Romania have a special connection with the delicate, sensual rustling of silk. Because Smaranda Brăescu was Romania's first parachutist and third aviator. This year we celebrate the 90th anniversary of the absolute record of 7200m in parachuting set by aviator Smaranda Brăescu, a record set in 1932 in Sacramento, United States. At the same time, this year marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of Smaranda Brăescu.
Being an edition organized from scratch, we will not be able to admire in evolution established formations of acrobats. But the show will certainly be at its height, being able to admire dozens of military aircraft. Through BIAS 2022 invitations, we will be able to admire those from: the Romanian Air Force; Aeroclub of Romania; TAROM; Hawks of Romania; Higher School of Civil Aviation and Air Force in Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Slovakia.
The Romanian Air Force will be present with F16, IAR 99 Soim or C-27J Spartan aircraft. The Aeroclub of Romania will participate with the formations Hawks of Romania, Blue Wings, White Wings, or Solo Extra 300L. Being a Smaranda Brăescu edition, the TAROM YR-ASC aircraft christened "Smaranda Brăescu" will not be missing, which will evolve alongside the F-16 Falcon aircraft. The Slovenian Air Force will participate with the Pilatus PC-9, and the Italian Air Force will participate with the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Alenia Aermacchi M-346 Mater.
Many other aircraft will be able to be admired on the ground, being statically exhibited. There will be representatives of the Air Forces of Germany, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Canada and the USA.
The special guest will be Jurgis Kairys, an acrobatic veteran and featured guest at all BIAS editions. The day will end with a Smiley concert. The biggest air show will start at 10:00 a.m. at Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, Băneasa. Access will be through Romaero, from Aerogării Boulevard.
