Runway 2 (08L - 26R) of the “Henri Coandă” Airport in Bucharest was opened
Bucharest National Airport Company announces the reopening of the take-off runway no. 2 (08L-26R) starting with 20 June, 18.00 hours, according to the schedule announced previously.
Starting from 20 June, the track no. 2 will be operational over the entire length of 3500 meters, which will lead to an increase in the airport's operating capacity by over 50%, up to a number of 39 landings and departures per hour.
Track 2 (08L - 26R) was opened
The asphalt paving works cost approx. 1.25 million lei and lasted 30 days. After the reception of the works, during the period 13-20 June, the preparatory operations for the reopening of the runway (marking, flight calibration, authorizations, etc.) were carried out.
Here the miracle happened. Since June 20, Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport has been operating with 2 runways of 3500 meters. We hope to see runway no. 1 (08R - 26L) completely rehabilitated. And, if all goes well, maybe we will see Boeing 747 aircraft in Bucharest.
