Three Boeing 777s belonging to Qatar Airways Cargo left for India today, carrying about 300 tons of medical supplies to support medical efforts against the spread of COVID-19. The three flights took off one after the other to Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi, as part of the QQ Airways Cargo WeQare initiative.

The Executive Director of Qatar Airways, His Excellency, Akbar Al Baker, said: "After seeing with great sadness the impact that this subsequent wave of COVID-19 infections had on the people of India, we knew we had to do something to help India and support the brave health workers in the country."

Freight transport included PPE equipment, oxygen canisters and other essential medical items, as well as donations made by individuals and companies around the world, in addition to existing freight orders.
