Starting on May 2, 2023 (4:00 a.m.), a series of measures will be implemented regarding the smoothing of traffic to and from Iași Airport, with the start of works to expand the car park and reconfigure the access roads in front of the T3 terminals and Q4.
The parking lot is temporarily closed
Under these conditions, the existing car park will be completely closed for a period of three months, and a temporary access road will be created along the three terminals.
The measure was established following consultations with the contractor, the institutions operating at the Iași Airport, the Iași City Hall and the Iași County Council, in the context of the significant increase in passenger traffic.
It is recommended to use public transport
As for the transit of the road to the Airport, starting from the intersection at Pod Ciric, over a distance of 2 km, ONLY public transport, as well as that of taxi and ride sharing companies, will be allowed. Parking for more than 5 minutes and/or parking of vehicles in front of the terminals will be prohibited.
For their part, the employees of the Directorate, the flight crews and all those who come to the Airport for profit will have special identification coupons, which will allow them access with personal cars, from Rond Ciric to the Airport.
At the Ciric intersection, a permanent filtering point will be created for vehicles heading to the Airport, which will be coordinated and supported by the Local Police.
For those who want to travel to the airport with their personal cars, the City Hall will make available the terraced parking lots at Ciric. From here to the Airport, there will be regular express public transport services, at intervals of 15 minutes. The City Hall is to identify other parking areas for access to the Airport.
Regarding the current line of bus 50, dedicated to transport from the municipality to the Airport, the number of daily trips will be supplemented at regular intervals of a maximum of 30 minutes. The route of bus 50 is the same (Station – Piața Unirii – Tg. Cucu – AIRPORT and AIRPORT – Tg. Cucu – B-dul Independţei – Station), which can be consulted on the CTP Iași website: http://www.sctpiasi.ro/trasee/conexiuni.
In order not to delay the check-in formalities and document verification, we recommend that passengers arrive at the Airport approximately 3 hours before boarding.
