Bucharest National Airports Company registered, in the first quarter of the year 2015, the Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport and the Bucharest-Baneasa International Airport Aurel Vlaicu, a record air traffic, 1.809.228 passengers and 23.961 aircraft movements (landings and take-offs). In total, 1.808.332 passenger and 19.411 aircraft movements were registered at Henri Coanda Airport.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of passengers who passed the airports of Bucharest in 2015 registered a significant increase, of 15,5%.
The evolution of the number of passengers at the two airports of the National Company Bucharest Airports significantly outweighs the general trend registered at European level. At the airports of the Capital, there was also an increase in the number of aircraft movements, exceeding in this regard the European trend. Thus, in the first three months of the 2015 year, the number of aircraft movements at the airports in Bucharest increased by 12,6% compared to the same period last year.
In 2014, the two airports of the Capital - Henri Coanda Bucharest International Airport and Bucharest Baneasa-Aurel Vlaicu International Airport - were transited by 8.321.858 passengers, the number of aircraft movements (landings and takeoffs) amounting to 102.048.
At Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport, 31 currently operates airlines, which transports passengers to 70 from destinations. In the year 2014, two new airlines, Ryanair and Air Baltic, started operating on AIHCB.
