The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs Romanian citizens who are, transit or want to travel to the Kingdom of Spain that the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued yellow and orange codes for heat, torrential rains, storms and hail for the period 4-5 August 2021.
Thus, for August 4, 2021, the following warnings are valid:
• Orange code of storms and hail for the Community of Catalonia;
• Yellow code of torrential rains (with accumulations of precipitation of up to 20 mm / h) in the Community of Catalonia;
• Yellow heat code (with temperatures up to 38ºC) for the Valencian Community.
For August 5, 2021:
• Yellow heat wave (with temperatures up to 38ºC) for the Andalusian Community.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates the recommendation to constantly consult the public information provided by the Spanish authorities, to assess responsibly any travel and to avoid non-essential travel.
It is also recommended to Romanian citizens who are in the affected areas to contact the competent authorities in case of emergency by calling the emergency number 112.
