Travel conditions in the UK
Here's what you need to pay attention to as Romanian citizens if you are visiting the UK:
- Payment by card: EU-UK transactions will no longer be covered by EU rules limiting interbank fees. This can lead to a surcharge for card payments.
We recommend that you check the rates that will be applied to payments made in the UK before traveling.
- roaming: Roaming providers operating in the EU may charge customers a surcharge when they use roaming services in the United Kingdom.
Before traveling to the UK, we recommend that you check with your telephone service provider what charges will apply during your visit to this state.
- Customs control: From the point of view of customs controls for European visitors, including Romanians, traveling to the United Kingdom, there will be no changes until at least July 1, 2021. Any changes communicated by the British authorities will be notified in due course. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced visa regime and travel conditions for Romanians in Great Britain, from January 1, 2021. We recommend that you also find out about the official website of the UK.
It is possible to travel based on the identity card until September 30, 2021
