Travel conditions in Bulgaria: COVID-19 negative PCR test

We remind you that, in accordance with the Bulgarian legislation in force, applicable until April 30, 2021, Romanian citizens traveling to the Republic of Bulgaria must present a negative PCR test. It must be carried out no later than 72 hours before entering the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria. The date of the test, recorded in the respective document, is taken into account.

The document certifying the negative result of the PCR molecular test must contain: the name and surname of the person (according to the identity document with which he travels), the data of the laboratory that performed the test (name, address or other contact details) test, written in Latin characters (PCR) and the negative result (negative).

The following categories of persons must NOT present a negative PCR test: bus drivers, engaged in international passenger transport; drivers of trucks carrying international goods; naval crew members; members of aircrews flying to and from public airports in the Republic of Bulgaria and similar technical personnel; cross-border workers; persons transiting the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, when immediate departure from the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria can be guaranteed.

Romanian citizens wishing to travel to the Republic of Bulgaria and who do not fall within the exceptions to the mandatory measure of presentation of the PCR-type molecular test with negative result for SARS-CoV-2 infection may enter the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria only through certain crossing points. border.

From Romania, only through the border crossing points from Giurgiu-Ruse, Caulk-Vidin and Old Customs House-Durankulak, Turnu Măgurele – Nicopole and Oryahovo-Bechet - this last point being currently open only to freight traffic).
