Travel conditions in Lithuania: negative test for COVID-19 and self-isolation for 14 days.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that the authorities of the Republic of Lithuania have revised, starting with August 17, 2020, the conditions for entry into this state for citizens and permanent residents of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation and the United Kingdom. Britain and Northern Ireland.  

According to this new decision, Romania is placed in the category of states where the infection rate exceeds the value of 25 cases / 100.000 inhabitants. So, persons arriving in the Republic of Lithuania from this category of states must test negative for COVID-19 infection, performed in the state of departure with maximum 72 hours before arrival in the Republic of Lithuania and isolate themselves for a period of 14 days. Prior to this decision, persons from this category of states in which Romania was included could not enter the Republic of Lithuania.

At the same time, persons arriving in the Republic of Lithuania from abroad, by air or sea, must register at the National Center for Public Health in the Republic of Lithuania (https://keleiviams.nvsc.lt/en/form) before entering the country. Persons using road / rail transport must complete this procedure within 12 hours of arrival.

The measures announced by the authorities of the Republic of Lithuania shall not apply to persons transiting the territory of that State for return to the country of residence.as well as other specific categories of persons, according to the information available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania -https://urm.lt/default/en/important-covid19.
