Travel information in Greece: Alert strong weather phenomena

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs Romanian citizens who are or intend to travel to the Hellenic Republic that the local authorities have issued a forecast of strong weather phenomena generated by the presence of a bad weather front, characterized by significant rainfall, storms, wind intensifications and snow over relatively large areas, for the period March 21-22, 2021, as follows:

  • Sunday, March 21, 2021, heavy rains and storms in the Ionian Islands, Epirus (especially in the morning and afternoon), Thessaly, Sporades, Northeast Aegean Islands, temporarily in Macedonia and Thrace, heavy snow locally in the areas mountains of Epirus and Western Macedonia;
  • Monday, March 22, 2021, heavy rainfall and storms in the west, center and north of the country, heavy snow in the mountainous areas of the continental region of R. Elene and in the semi-mountainous areas of the northwest of the country.

Romanian citizens can request consular assistance at the telephone numbers of the Romanian Embassy in Athens: +302106774035 and the Consulate General of Romania in Thessaloniki: +302310340088, the calls being redirected to the Contact and Support Center of Romanian Citizens Abroad (CCSCRS) and taken over by to Call Center operators, on a permanent basis.
