Warning to travel to Spain: heat wave, storm, torrential rains!

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs the Romanian citizens who are, transit or want to travel to the Kingdom of Spain that the Spanish Meteorological Agency has updated the weather forecast and issued orange and yellow codes of heat, storms and torrential rains, as follows:

For July 20, 2021:

  • Yellow heat code (up to 39ºC), torrential rains (20mm / h) and storm in the communities of Aragon and Catalonia;
  • Yellow heat code (up to 39ºC) in the communities of Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, Navarra and La Rioja;
  • Yellow storm code for the Valencian Community. 

For July 21, 2021:

  • Yellow heat wave (up to 39ºC) in the communities of Madrid, Andalusia, Aragon, Castilla y León, Castilla La Mancha, Catalonia, Navarra, La Rioja, the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates the recommendation for Romanian citizens to constantly consult public information and recommendations of the Spanish authorities.

It is also recommended to Romanian citizens who are in the affected areas to contact the competent authorities in case of emergency, by calling the emergency number 112.    

Romanian citizens can request consular assistance at the telephone numbers of the Consular Section of the Romanian Embassy in Madrid: +34 91.734.4004, the call being redirected to the Contact and Support Center for Romanian Citizens Abroad (CCSCRS) and taken over by Call Center operators, on a permanent basis.
